Dealing with headhunting

Here are six things you should know:

  • Every correspondence between us is conducted in the strictest of confidence. We take this very seriously because we know you do too.
  • You’ve been approached for a reason. If Trojan has phoned you, it’s because we want to talk to you specifically.
  • If at any point along the way we think this isn’t a good career move for you, we’ll tell you. This is about long-term solutions, not quick fixes. Forcing you into the wrong role will be detrimental to you, our Client and ultimately us.
  • The process may take time. Hey, sometimes getting to the bottom of what’s really important can take a bit longer than you think. We promise to keep you informed of developments as they happen and take your comments on board. If at any point you want to discuss anything, no matter how trivial you think it might be, we’re only at the end of the phone.
  • Before things go beyond the initial contact, we’ll sit-down, have an informal chat, get to know each other a bit better and decide whether you meeting our Client is in your best interests. This should be an enjoyable, informative experience, where we find out about your personal ambitions, likes, dislikes etc. We’ll ask you to complete a quick and painless personality test, the results of which we’ll share with you.
  • If you decide to meet our Client, we’ll help you through the interview process.  To avoid the late arrival of potential "deal breakers", we’ll already have spoken to our Client and made them aware of any key issues you’ve raised.  It’s important to focus on the professional aspects of the opportunity in the early stages of the process (in other words don’t see this as a means of negotiating a higher salary with your existing employer). If, for whatever reason things don’t work out, don’t panic. We have long-term relationships with each and every one of our Candidates so we won’t desert you. Rather, we’ll continue to help you to develop your career and ensure you find the job you deserve.
